The Gull Lake UMC Missions Committee seeks to spread the lessons of Christianity by example, helping those in need without judging. Youth mission trips are supported at the junior as well as at the senior high levels and are popular, positive experiences for the young people and their adult leaders. The congregation shares generously with both talent and financial support for our mission activities whether at home or far afield.
Local mission activities include support for community organizations meeting the needs of our neighbors, monthly free soup suppers and occasional home restoration projects that help keep families together. Activities farther from home include supporting groups involved in disaster recovery or working around the country or around the world in areas of economic distress.
Our mission participants, young or not so young, find that the experience benefits them at least as much as those they have gone to help.
