Parish/Faith Community Nurse Ministry
GLUMC has a volunteer Parish/Faith Community Nurse who provides health and spirituality promotions and education throughout the year.
§ Monthly Blood Pressure Screenings are conducted every second Sunday of the month following our worship services.
§ Health information brochures, booklets, and CareNotes are available in display areas.
§ Special projects are scheduled throughout the year. Recent events included Walk to Jerusalem by Easter™ in 2008 and Walk to Bethlehem by Christmas™ 2009. These were 12-week walks with devotional readings and physical activity with over 8,500 miles accumulated for each walk.
§ Annual Flu Shot Clinic held every fall.
§ CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) training.
Quiet Centering for the Holidays with music, scriptures, meditations, anointing, communion, and lighting of candles for healing.
The Parish/Faith Community Nurse is available to provide information about local services available to older people and health information. You may notify the church office if you would like to make contact with the Parish/Faith Community Nurse.
